The biggest 8-bit event of the year FOReVER 2010 is near! This year it's called The 8-bit Odyssey and it's taking place on 19-21.3.2010 in Trencin, Slovakia. If you want to submit a Speccy compo entry, you can do it by sending your work to mike(at)zeroteam(dot)sk. Usual compos are demo, 1K intro, AY music and ZX picture. Support Speccy scene and make an art! Btw. I've heard that even johny.noone is going to make a demo :)

Quite old, but still a news. Sinclair Club Pilsen has had open-doors-day last month. Read the article at ci5.speccy.cz, open a bottle of Pilsner Urquell and watch the photos under links on the site :)

Velesoft has made a 10 minutes long YouTube video of his new Profi Interface for ZX Spectrum 128 +2 (grey). It has 1MB of RAM and ability to use TR-DOS with TRD images as well as switching to other DivIDE firmwares. And is has all features of his older Pentagon Interface. Watch here. Sadly, these interfaces exist in prototype forms only.

z00m and Ikon have launched a new website concerning add-ons for ZX Spectrum. You can find there just three mods: Memory LEDmap, simple AY interface (with Zilog's Golden Ratio principle - the best sounding AY!) and Universal 48K to 128K rebuild. Go to hw.speccy.cz and pimp your Spectrum!

Below the break are the results to this years raww.orgy 2010 demoparty. I had to normalise some of the results... a three-entry tie for first place in the graphics compo!??! So those entries had the voting normalised to work out who came first. If there is any contention issue with the results... well, I'm fairly certain my maths is correct. I will post more information if it's needed (as I expect it will be).
Full downloads of the compo entries are here, and the text-only version of the results is here.
Note: Updated the download of the party works to include the missing (non-compo) work by newart. Sorry.

I meant to post something earlier, and I also hoped to do something special here, but with the party happening I've not had the time. So... I should at least mention that...
Today raww.org turned 10 years old!

Ehm, not quite the results... not yet.
I have counted the votes and know who came first (so to speak), but there are some... interesting results. Basically, there were 4 x 256b intro entries, with a draw for first place, and 6 x screen$ entries, with a three-way draw for first place!! Yeah, so half of the graphics entries came joint first! Wow! It's silly!
So, the joint first-place in each category will still be first place... but if I get around to sorting out prizes, I will use some clever analysis to work out which entry was most popular. Otherwise it will cost me millions!!!
Does that make sense. Of course not.
Anyway, it's late, so I will post something proper tomorrow.
