-= Introduction =-

Yes, it's finally been announced after much pushing from the general public.
raww.orgy 4 will be taking place in 2008! It will be around the same time as
the previous parties, February being the month in which raww.org was born unto
the world. That gives you about four months to save up for flight tickets.
Currently I can't update the official party.raww.org website, but I'll put a
bundle of information up there when I get a chance.

Space is... wait, no, space may not be as limited as before! We have a possible
new venue for the party, but more on that in the Location section below.

-= Dates =-

The party will be held from the evening of Friday 15th February 2008 until
Sunday 17th February 2008. Two-and-a-half days, give or take the odd hour.
As with previous years I will take at least a couple days off of work around
the party in order to take people to airports and the like, so if you're
travelling far, then heading home on Monday is always an option. Who knows, I
may even let you stay for longer if you ask me nicely (it's nice to see some of
England if you've not visited before).

As always, England in February can be cold, but that means we have a fridge the
size of the planet in which to keep our beer cold.

-= Location =-

As mentioned above depending on the number of people who want to come to the
party we may well have a new venue.
If only a few people are coming (say, less than 10) the party will take place
in icabod's home in Yeovil, Somerset, UK. If more people come then we may move
the party into the home of the "in-laws": my wifes parents are away on holiday
that weekend, and they have a huge house which we can use providing we're extra
careful and don't break stuff. This house is in Yeovil too, a little closer to
the town center, but further away from a 24-hour shop, natch!

Accomodation will, as before, consist of sleeping bags and mattresses, although
if the location does move then there will be more actual beds. Hooray!
Either way I will be able to provide sleeping bags for some people if they're
needed.

Remember that due to space restrictions it's important that you let us know if
you plan to come to the party. Space is limited but we can always find room for
visitors.

-= Programme =-

15/02 @ 18:00 - Party starts, people arrive, beer is consumed.
16/02 @ 10:00 - Demoscene day - demos and 'puters and beer and stuff.
17/02 @ 10:00 - Touristy stuff if we feel up to it.
17/02 @ 18:00 - Party ends. Go home (unless you're staying longer).

If it's decided to do some kind of "tourist" thing on the Sunday then we will.
It could be anything - greasy chips at the coast on a rainy day can be nice.
But this will be up to people other than me to decide.

If you want to stay for an extra couple of days in the UK (if you're travelling
from far far away) then let me know. I'm happy to put people up, and hopefully
I won't have to go to work so I can take you to interesting places in Somerset
and the surrounding areas. Why come all the way to England and only see the
inside of someones house? That would be like going to Forever and not visiting
Trencin Castle *cough*.

you within a couple weeks of the party, time-allowing.
Prizes will only be for the first-place in each competition.

-= Directions =-

If you're flying to the UK, it would help to fly to Bristol or Exeter
airport, that way you can easily be collected.
The party-place is not far from the A303, and there's a train link to
London locally too.
Local train stations are:
Yeovil Junction (direct line from London Waterloo)
Yeovil Pen Mill (direct from Bristol Temple Meads)
  Taunton (direct line from somewhere)
If you have any questions regarding travel within the UK, please contact
the organisers.

-= Money =-

The Euro suxx, and here in the UK we know it only too well, so we stick to
Pounds Sterling, or GBP. However it is easy to exchange Euros into "real"
money, so if you're coming from abroad then Euros may be your best option if
you can't get GBP.
If you are coming from abroad then it shouldn't be too expensive once you get
here. Perhaps some money for beers and souvenirs, and maybe some lunch if we
go out and about. I tend to spend a couple weeks before the party building up
a nice collection of beers, and I'll do some cooking on the Saturday too. I'm
a right proper host, I am.
